Jack is back!

I'm not going to pretend to been an entertainment critic, so I'm going to quote someone else - 24: Redemption contained "all the adrenaline-laced explosiveness one would expect of a typical '24' episode." It also contained a tragic storyline many people aren't familiar with: the recruitment of children and their use as soldiers in armed conflict.

Several years ago, a friend of mine introduced me to Invisible Children. While on a filmmaking adventure in Africa, three students from southern California (the founders of Invisible Children) discovered the tragedy of northern Uganda's child soldiers.



The Lord's Resistance Army (a designated terrorist organization by the U.S. Department of State) was formed in 1987 and has been "engaged in armed rebellion against the Ugandan government in what is now one of Africa's longest-running conflicts" (Wikipedia).

According to Invisible Children, the rebel leader of the LRA intends to sign a Final Peace Agreement by November 29th. Although Uganda appears to be headed in the right direction, the tragic storyline continues in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Check out the photo journalism here (courtesy of David Wilhite).
